Meta Stock Upgraded at JPMorgan on New AI Products

Meta stock was upgraded to Overweight from Neutral at JPMorgan as the research firm pointed to potential revenue from a new generation of artificial intelligence products. Analyst Doug Anmuth raised his price target for Meta Platforms (NASDAQ: META) to $820 from $640.

The rating and price target represent JPMorgan’s analyst opinion, not guidance from the company or a guarantee of future performance. Anmuth argued that Meta is still in the early stages of releasing frontier models and AI products beyond its advertising business, creating what the firm sees as meaningful upside potential.

Why JPMorgan Sees More Upside for Meta Stock

JPMorgan identified the Muse personal agent, access to Meta’s model application programming interfaces and future products built around its frontier models as possible sources of monetization. The firm also expects Meta’s Watermelon model initiative to create opportunities spanning consumer services, business intelligence and advertising.

Meta recently introduced Muse as a personal AI agent designed to complete tasks through a secure virtual machine. The company said the service is rolling out in the United States across mobile devices and the web, with paid plans available for heavier use.

The bullish view on Meta stock depends on whether those products attract users and generate revenue sufficient to justify the company’s large AI investment. Adoption, infrastructure spending, competition and regulatory scrutiny remain key risks that could cause actual results to differ from JPMorgan’s forecast.
