The Aviat Networks order is expected to be worth between $35 million and $40 million, according to a regulatory filing. Aviat Networks (NASDAQ: AVNW) said its U.S. subsidiary received the orders from an existing North American customer.
The orders were received on September 2 and relate to planned customer deployments. Aviat did not identify the customer or provide a detailed delivery schedule in the filing.
Aviat Networks Order Adds Material Revenue Opportunity
The size of the award is significant for a provider of wireless transport and access products. Aviat supplies microwave networking equipment, software and services used by communications providers, governments and private-network operators.
The company’s official regulatory filing cautions that the timing, scale and scope of future deployments remain subject to the customer’s internal planning and market conditions. Aviat said no other material relationship exists with the customer outside the relevant agreements.
The Aviat Networks order gives the company a sizable commercial opportunity, but recognized revenue may differ from the headline range if deployment plans change. Investors will watch future backlog, shipment timing and margins for evidence of the contract’s financial contribution.
