The Veracyte Convergent Genomics acquisition adds the UroAmp urinary tumor DNA platform to Veracyte’s diagnostic portfolio. Veracyte (NASDAQ: VCYT) agreed to pay $150 million in upfront cash for the company.
The agreement includes up to $30 million of additional cash tied to milestones involving reimbursement for UroAmp. The platform has been clinically validated in non-muscle invasive bladder cancer, including treatment-response monitoring and surveillance following therapy.
Veracyte Convergent Genomics Acquisition Broadens Bladder Cancer Testing
Urine-based tumor DNA testing may help clinicians detect molecular evidence of disease without relying solely on more invasive procedures. Adoption will depend on clinical performance, physician acceptance, reimbursement and how the test fits into existing care pathways.
Veracyte provides transaction details through its official investor news archive. The company had already included Convergent’s expected operating expenses in its existing 2026 adjusted EBITDA guidance and did not change that outlook.
The Veracyte Convergent Genomics acquisition expands the company’s urologic cancer capabilities but creates integration and reimbursement risk. Investors will watch test volume, coverage decisions, clinical adoption and milestone progress to assess whether the purchase generates an adequate return.
