Einride (NASDAQ: ENRD) has announced plans to deploy 500 Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) Semi trucks across North America through its Saga AI fleet intelligence platform, in what the company says will be the largest deployment of its kind to date.

The trucks will serve Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN) and other major Einride customers while expanding the company’s electric freight network across key U.S. logistics corridors.

The rollout is expected to take place in multiple phases over the next 24 months, beginning in September 2026.

The planned deployment will cover freight operations in California, Texas, New Jersey, Illinois and Georgia.

Einride said the expansion will extend both its electric freight network and its Saga AI platform, which is designed to coordinate vehicles, charging, routing and fleet operations.

By integrating Tesla Semi trucks into the platform, Einride is looking to scale electric freight capacity across several of the most important logistics markets in the United States.

Amazon Among Customers Set to Use New Fleet

Einride said the 500-truck deployment will support Amazon and other key customers across North America.

The announcement highlights growing demand from large shippers for lower-emission freight solutions as companies seek to reduce transportation-related carbon emissions.

Tesla Semi is designed for heavy-duty electric freight and has increasingly been targeted at fleet operators looking to replace diesel trucks on regional and long-haul routes.

Rollout Begins in September 2026

Einride plans to carry out the deployment in several phases over a 24-month period.

The first phase is scheduled to begin in September 2026, with the broader rollout continuing across the company’s North American freight network.

Einride said the program will be fully financed through third-party financing solutions, limiting the need for the company to fund the entire vehicle purchase directly from its own balance sheet.

Deal Expands Einride’s Electric Freight Platform

The planned fleet expansion represents a significant step in Einride’s effort to build a large-scale electric trucking ecosystem.

The company is combining physical freight assets with its Saga AI software platform, positioning itself not only as a fleet operator but also as a technology provider for electric logistics.

If completed as planned, the 500-truck rollout could become one of the most significant commercial deployments of Tesla Semi vehicles and provide a major real-world test of electric heavy-duty trucking at scale.
