Leonardo DRS contracts totaling $96 million will supply electronics hardware for the MK 41 Vertical Launching System, the U.S. Navy’s main shipborne missile launcher. Leonardo DRS (NASDAQ: DRS) said the awards also support systems fielded by 14 allied navies.
The company will provide programmable power supplies, launch control units and module and system transformer platform equipment. These components support launcher functions aboard U.S. Navy destroyers and allied vessels.
Leonardo DRS Contracts Support MK 41 System Readiness
The MK 41 is designed to launch multiple missile types from surface ships, making reliable control and power hardware important to fleet readiness. The new awards reinforce Leonardo DRS’s position as a supplier of mission-critical naval combat electronics.
Leonardo DRS maintains an official archive of contract announcements covering sensing, computing, force protection and naval power systems. The company did not specify the delivery schedule or disclose how the $96 million will be distributed across the individual awards.
The revenue contribution from the Leonardo DRS contracts will depend on production timing and government funding. Defense awards can be modified, delayed or terminated, while supply-chain availability and fixed-price execution may also influence the eventual margin earned on the work.
