The SPX Technologies FIS Water acquisition has closed for total cash consideration of approximately $410 million, including certain tax attributes. SPX Technologies (NYSE: SPXC) is adding the water-management business to its HVAC segment.
FIS Water is headquartered in Fresno, California, and employs about 120 people. The acquired company is expected to generate approximately $105 million in revenue during 2026 and will operate within SPX’s cooling platform.
SPX Technologies FIS Water Acquisition Expands Cooling Portfolio
FIS Water provides water-management and control products used in commercial and industrial cooling applications. Its brands include LAKOS, Puroflux, Superior, VAF and VSI, with products designed to remove solids, maintain water quality and control water flow.
SPX announced completion through its official news release platform. The company said it plans to provide updated 2026 guidance, including the contribution from FIS Water, when it reports third-quarter financial results.
The transaction increases SPX’s exposure to cooling demand from data centers and other infrastructure-intensive facilities. Water quality and filtration are important to system reliability, energy efficiency and equipment life, making the acquired products complementary to SPX’s existing thermal-management portfolio.
FIS Water’s installed products and specialized brands may also give SPX opportunities to expand aftermarket sales and cross-sell equipment through its existing distribution network. Those benefits will depend on integrating commercial teams and maintaining service quality during the transition.
Purchase Price Puts Integration and Growth in Focus
The purchase price equals roughly 3.9 times FIS Water’s expected 2026 revenue before considering the value of the included tax attributes. A complete assessment will require information on profitability, financing costs, expected synergies and integration expenses.
The SPX Technologies FIS Water acquisition could support longer-term growth if data-center construction and industrial cooling investment remain strong. Investors will watch the revised guidance, margin contribution and customer retention to determine whether the transaction earns an adequate return on the cash deployed.
