An Anthropic IPO report says Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs are close to receiving leading roles in a potential public offering by the artificial-intelligence company.

The Financial Times reported, citing four people familiar with the matter, that Morgan Stanley (NYSE: MS) is positioned for the lead-left role, with Goldman Sachs (NYSE: GS) also expected to receive a senior mandate. Anthropic has not publicly confirmed the reported appointments.

JPMorgan Chase (NYSE: JPM), Citigroup (NYSE: C) and Barclays (NYSE: BCS) are also expected to obtain significant roles after providing debt financing to Anthropic, according to the report. The information has not been independently verified by Global Macro News.

Anthropic IPO Report Suggests a Filing Could Come Soon

The report said the company behind the Claude chatbot could publicly file an IPO prospectus as soon as next week. A potential filing would provide the first detailed public look at Anthropic’s revenue, expenses, ownership structure and material business risks.

Bank appointments are commonly made before an IPO filing, but they do not guarantee that an offering will proceed on the expected schedule. Market conditions, regulatory review and company strategy can all alter or delay a transaction.

Until Anthropic files a prospectus or issues an official statement, the timing and banking lineup should be treated as attributed reporting rather than confirmed fact. No proposed offering size, valuation or share price was confirmed in the report summary reviewed for this article.
