The Palantir cybersecurity program developed with Method Security will give selected municipalities, utilities and critical infrastructure operators access to continuous autonomous security assessments at no cost. The companies named the new initiative the Cardinal Program.
Palantir Technologies (NASDAQ: PLTR) will provide Foundry, its Artificial Intelligence Platform and an ontology designed for cybersecurity. Method Security will use that infrastructure to integrate assessment results, deliver findings and support collaboration with participating organizations.
Palantir Cybersecurity Program Targets Critical Infrastructure Risks
The program is opt-in and uses autonomous red teaming, a process designed to simulate attacks and identify weaknesses before malicious actors exploit them. Continuous testing can help operators detect changing risks more quickly than periodic assessments, although automated findings still require careful validation and remediation.
The offer focuses on public services and infrastructure operators that often manage sensitive systems with limited security resources. The companies did not disclose how many organizations will participate initially or specify a timetable for expanding access beyond the selected group.
The Palantir cybersecurity program adds another public-sector use case for the company’s software and AI tools. Its impact will depend on the safety controls applied to autonomous testing, the quality of the vulnerabilities identified and the ability of participating organizations to act on the results without disrupting essential services.
