Apple is reportedly investigating the posting on the dark web of documents said to pertain to the yet-to-be-released iPhone 18 Pro, following a data breach at its supplier, Tata Electronics.
According to sources familiar with the matter and the documents, the leaked files include supplier lists and component details related to the iPhone 18 Pro, as well as photos purportedly of the device. It has been reported that Apple is concerned about the leak.
The data breach at Tata Electronics has been in the news before; it was previously reported that a ransomware group had published more than 200,000 files belonging to the company. Cybersecurity researchers had reported that these files also included documents of a trade secret nature allegedly belonging to Apple and Tesla.
While the latest leak has brought Apple’s confidentiality processes and supply chain security for its next-generation iPhone models back into the spotlight, the company is said to be assessing the scope of the incident and the authenticity of the documents.
