The Evommune EVO756 trial did not meet its primary or secondary endpoints at any tested dose in adults with moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis.

Evommune (NASDAQ: EVMN) said the randomized, double-blind and placebo-controlled Phase 2b study enrolled 121 adults. Treatment lasted 12 weeks, with follow-up continuing through week 14.

Evommune EVO756 Trial Ends Atopic Dermatitis Program

Based on the topline outcome, the biotechnology company does not plan to advance EVO756 for atopic dermatitis. The decision narrows the program’s development path after the dose-ranging study failed to demonstrate the required efficacy signals.

Evommune said the oral MRGPRX2 antagonist was generally well tolerated and that its safety profile was consistent with prior studies. The company plans to continue evaluating the drug for migraine prevention, a separate indication that will require its own clinical evidence.

The results are topline company disclosures, and detailed data have not been provided in the supplied update. Endpoint definitions, dose-level results and statistical analyses will be important for assessing the outcome fully. Further information about the company’s pipeline is available from Evommune.
